Wooo.... It's been a while! Between pageants, camps, shoots and baseball, I can't remember the last time I actually had a moment to think!! It's been a fun, busy and exciting few weeks though. Last night, two of my Hooligans had a baseball game. There was one of those moments you're like "Please tell me I'm recording. Please, please, PLEASE!" And sure enough! It's was rolling! You'll have to excuse the bouncing up and down, but it was pretty awesome. Our guy stole 2nd, 3rd AND home on a strike, WITH the entire opposing team chasing him :) Way to go Bud!!!
Congratulations to JoAnna Grace and Steven Gibson on a GORGEOUS cover!!!!
Steven and I have been bouncing around for weeks now, waiting for JoAnna to release this cover! This RKPC image came out of a surprise, "Hey girl, I'll be in KC tomorrow" shoot that was an absolute blast!!
The Bigger They Are... The Harder The Fall
With two newly mated couples in the alpha house, Conall needs a serious breather. He’s used to being the fifth wheel but now the distinction is amplified. When the opportunity for a couple days of freedom arises, he volunteers to take winter supplies to a mountain-dwelling widow and then spend some time hiking alone. Plans change when he meets a woman who evokes his lion’s protective streak and stirs his human desires. She meets none of his expectations for a mate, but that might be exactly what he needs.
Madelyn has been alone for nearly a decade. Ashamed of what she has become, she banished herself from the Blackburn Pack and resigned herself to a solitary life in the mountains. With no plans of change, it’s alarming when a young, alluring lion shifter arrives awakening her senses and challenging her situation. Her inner bear is still haunted by the last man who tried to claim her and she doesn’t want to make the same mistake again. Madelyn must discern if Conall is worth the risk or of he’s another heartbreak just waiting to happen.
While Conall is tucked away in the woods with Madelyn, the rest of his Pride faces an attack. In haste to go rescue his friends, he might throw the most vulnerable person of all to the wolves. But are they friend or foe?

Congratulations to Alice C. Hart
My professional time is pretty evenly split between writing and photography. Outside of my own graphics and the work I do for Wicked Women Book Blog, there is rarely enough time left to work on other designs. I do make a few exceptions, and this particular one is one of my favorites.
Once upon a time... I don't know, like a few months ago maybe... There was a gorgeous chick named Alice who loved cat videos. She had just finished writing her first novel and needed a cover. So she called me. I was reluctant at first, like a shy girl on her very first date. But Alice was relentless, taking me to the fanciest restaurants, Broadway plays and helicopter rides over Paris and Milan, She lavished me with gifts- chocolates, bacon, the finest silks and softest leathers... It was magical really, like my own Princess Charming. But one day, after hours and hours of deep, meaningful discussion, she whispered to me in that sweet, saucy little voice hers, that one perfect word, and my reluctance crumbled under the weight of my excitement...
Okay, okay. That's not EXACTLY how it happened. But she does have a saucy voice and she did say "Play". Besides, I was already head-over-heels for her, so naturally- I was in like Flynn, yo!!
She gave me a run-down of the book, sent a few ideas over and told me to play.
And play I did :)
Nailed it on the first concept, too!!
Alice released the book a few weeks early, and I have to say- I'm so glad she did!! I've been bouncing around for weeks, anxious to show this cover off!!! So here it is :) The print wrap and eCover!! You can grab your copy of Obsession by clicking HERE. And stop by Alice's Facebook page and show her some love.
Alice- Thank you so much for including me on your epic adventure <3 I am absolutely humbled and honored that you would allow me to design the cover of your very first book <3
Congratulations and Good Luck to Our Daughter!!!
Several weeks ago, our oldest daughter Eva received an invitation to attend an open call for National American Miss. Before this, my only pageant experience had been in California, where everything is "glitz and glam," overpriced, under dressed hot mess! I was VERY reluctant to even mention the invite to my daughter. But after some research and speaking to a good friend and former Texas Pageant Queen, we decided we'd give it a go. The biggest draw for this particular organization is that they do not allow girls 12 and under to wear makeup and they do not have a swimsuit competition.
Eva was incredibly excited. This is something she has wanted to do for a long time. When we arrived at the interview, her nerves started getting the better of her, but her new pageant coach Jen was able to help her calm down and she completed the interview alongside about 20 other girls in her age division. She was even able to try on the crown and sash. She left the interview with more confidence than I had ever seen her have before.
The pageant director said it would take up to a week to find out if Eva was a State Finalist, or if she would be invited back to try again next year. Every single one of the next seven days saw the both of us scrambling to answer the phone and rushing to check the mail.
Monday night, a letter finally arrived. Mixed in with a newspaper, it was almost tossed out. There was no way I was going to tell her what the letter said without Jen. So we planned a little surprise for her at school :)
Here is a hastily put together video of her journey (so far) on the way to National American Miss 2015 Miss Missouri Pre-Teen!!
Congratulations Sweet Heart!!! We are so proud of you and we can't wait to see you walk across that stage!!!
"For me, success has nothing to do with material things, a certain level of perceived achievement, or a title attributed to a name. I measure my personal success through every day dealings with myself, my family, and my friends. I feel that if I am constantly striving to be the best all-around person I can be, health and fitness included, then I am being the most successful person I can be."
I recently had the opportunity to work with renowned model, musician and fitness expert, Justin Edwards. He was a blast to work with and the images coming out of the set are smoking hot!
Justin has been nominated for Men's Health Magazine's Ultimate Guy cover competition. They are looking for a guy who is fit and fearless, and a doer who gives back and leads by example. I can't think of anyone more qualified than Justin. He isn't just a model and musician, he's a firefighter, personal trainer and a charitable member of both his local and the national community. He regularly participates in events to benefit cancer patients and veteran organizations.
He is thriving in a professional career that continues to grow, gaining national recognition for his work both in front of and behind the lens, but Justin remains humble and true to his self. He is an excellent role model for today's young men and RKPC is proud to cast its vote for Justin Edwards as Men's Health Magazine's Ultimate Guy.
Click HERE and cast your vote for Justin! You can vote once a day. Justin is currently ranked #14. Let's help get him to Number 1!
Congratulations to L.L. Collins, Faith and Steven on a gorgeous cover!!!
***NOT A STANDALONE. THIS IS MEANT TO BE READ AFTER BOOK #1, TWISTED SOULS***
Life is a series of choices, and every one we make sends us down a different path…
It is easy to look back at your life and see the mistakes you’ve made and wonder how it all could’ve been different. But when the path you thought would last forever comes to an end and you have to choose a new one, do you follow the route that looks the straightest and easiest? Or do you follow your heart and choose the one that might have more twists and turns but could lead you to the happiest tomorrows?

I have been kicking around the idea of adding a Young Adult division to RKPC's stock catalog for a while now. With the recent installation of the studio, we were able to make that idea a reality. In fact, our first Contract YA Model has already landed her first cover! Make sure to check back often for new YA Stock photos and contact us if you are interested in booking a session with any of our new YA Contract Models.
Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to work with a brand new model. She is the daughter of a close friend of mine and an absolute beauty, both on film and off. Our session was so much fun. We were both learning new things and had a blast playing with different light setups and poses. Here is a little video of the shots we took, hope you enjoy it :)
My 13 year old son had an extra credit project assignment that required him to take pictures of the Blood Moon. We got up at 4 in the morning and pulled out the Canon and tripod. I have not quite mastered the art of moon shots yet, so it was a really fun, and interesting, learning experience for both of us. We put together a little compilation time lapse Blood Moon video to turn in as his project and set it to some music. This was a quickie video with basic Microsoft Movie Maker. You can download that for free here. I prefer Corel, but we didn't really have time for that. The really white shots were taken with the zoom lens at the highest ISO setting. The fuzzy red ones were taken with the 85, again on the highest ISO.
